The Hits of ‘75 — Low Riders, Lyin’ Eyes & Bad Feelings

Dave and Milt return to the time machine(with Milt battling a cold he likely gifted an entire Florida golf trip) and time-travel to the Billboard Top 10 for the week ending November 15, 1975. After quick cultural check-ins—mutiny inspiring The Hunt for Red October, Rudy’s real-life cameo, the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking, Travis Barker’s birth, and the #1 movie Let’s Do It Again—they count down: War “Low Rider,” Captain & Tennille’s aggressively horny “The Way I Want to Touch You,” Morris Albert’s instantly-classic-then-instantly-reviled “Feelings,” Natalie Cole’s debut “This Will Be,” KC & the Sunshine Band’s “That’s the Way (I Like It)” (parentheses litigated), Linda Ronstadt’s “Heat Wave” (with Andrew Gold on nearly everything), Jefferson Starship’s “Miracles,” The Four Seasons’ comeback “Who Loves You,” Eagles “Lyin’ Eyes,” and Elton John’s “Island Girl” (surprise: prostitution plot). Winner: “Lyin’ Eyes.” Feelings gets booted for James Taylor’s “Mexico,” while Milov swaps out Jefferson Starship for John Fogerty’s “Rockin’ All Over the World,” plus a Dead-or-Alive lightning round and gratuitous Kojak/Space Jam/Biz Markie detours.
